It’s dim, green and cool this morning. It’s already up past 61F and I don’t see any hint that it’s been raining, despite the forecast. Granted, I haven’t been out in the garden getting my feet soaked!

Leaving for the shop yesterday I did a garden wander and all I ended up with was one rose, despite the piles of weeds that I left everywhere. After that I took a pitcher and watered the “emergencies” on the porch plants while I was outside waiting for Tempus. We ran late yesterday, very late. Tempus got tangled up in learning the paper route.

He ran in, and then ran out for his other job after getting the minimums done.

I started with getting calendar information sorted in various places. I think the schedule for this week is ok and agrees in all the places that it shows up! I hope…

I tried to put up psychic fair page on WordPress, but I couldn’t make it show up. I figured out why when Karin called, but that was later in the day.

A Stellar Jay is hogging the feeder, chasing off the sparrows.
So I worked on displays, putting up the single feather display and then sorted clothes to make room for feather art pix. The aprons are on a different rack, now and I have to get Tempus going this morning on putting up the other pix.

Tempus ran in, we ate, he ran out to take posters around. He spent a lot of time chasing all over. He got me the most marvelous chocolate bar, a 77% bar, omg delicious, and it had a love poem in it, too. He’s so sweet!

While he was out chasing around I sorted the rose petals from the other day and went through the drying rack to make sure things are going ok, there.

When he got back Tempus hung the new smudge fans and an orange long banner and then put up the string of hair clips and decorative feathers over the counter with the necklaces. We’re making use of some strange spaces to get things arranged well!

We had a number of customers during the day, but mostly browsing and a few that just wanted to talk.

…and then Karin called… She’s the shop Webmaster, and she’s *really* good! I had sent her an e-mail, a pitiful wail for help on the pictures, since I was being a doofus, and she got that sorted out and then helped me get the psychic fair page visible. Of course, I took fire and worked hard on getting pictures into some of the previous newsletters and making some (like the gibbous moon and the astro symbols below) and that took up the rest of the evening while Tempus got his things sorted around.

Last night as we left the shop near 10pm, it was still 65F! Only ½ of the Moon was visible, shining through curdled cloud. I had to look twice, since I knew the Moon is gibbous and all the was visible was the top half, making for a really strange shape.

Tempus is back this morning, already and I’ve coffeed (although I’m due a 2nd cup!) and we’re heading for the shop pretty quickly here.

The shop opens at 10am. Summer hours, 10am-7pm, Wednesday through Monday. If we’re supposed to be closed, but it looks like we’re there, try the door. If it’s open, the shop’s open!

Love & Light,

NASA Science News for June 29, 2012 – A NASA-sponsored researcher has developed a way for spacecraft to hunt down hidden magnetic portals in the vicinity of Earth. These gateways link the magnetic field of our planet to that of the sun, setting the stage for stormy space weather.  FULL STORY: http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/29jun_hiddenportals/ VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3_vW5yrNek

The Moon is Waxing Gibbous. Waxing Moon Magick – The waxing moon is  for constructive magick, such as love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, luck or healthy, protection, divination. Any working that needs extra power, such as help finding a new job or healings for serious conditions, can be done now. Also, love, knowledge, legal undertakings, money and dreams.
Waxing Gibbous Moon – From seven to fourteen days after the new moon. For spells that need concentrated work over a ¼ moon cycle this is the best time for constructive workings. Aim to do the last working on the day of the Full moon, before the turn. Phase ends at 11:52pm on Sunday.

The Moon shines in the head stars of Scorpius this evening, with Antares to its lower left.

Jupiter and Venus remain 5° apart low in the dawn all week, with the Pleiades above them and Aldebaran just below. The lineup is vertical as seen from near latitude 40° north (New York, Denver).
Remember when Venus and Jupiter paired up spectacularly in the evening last March? Now they’re at it again, but this time low in the dawn. Best time: about an hour or so before your local sunrise.
A leap second will be inserted into the world’s civil time systems at the end of June 30th Coordinated Universal Time (the second before 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time). The minute 23:59 UTC will have 61 seconds, not 60, to adjust for a slight accumulated slowdown in Earth’s spin. The last leap second was added to the world’s clocks at the end of 2008. As the moment arrives, watch your favorite online time service and see if they get it right.

July 6, 2010 – Shifting with the Tide – Energetic Motion
Since our lives are constantly in motion energetically, change is a constant element of our existence.
Since our lives are constantly in motion energetically, change is a constant element of our existence. As dynamic as that energy is, it is not random or haphazard in nature—the shifts in energy that are constantly taking place are the result of our choices. The formulation of intention, a change in perspective, or the creation of a goal can transform our lives in blink of an eye. We think positive thoughts and the world becomes a brighter place. Or we decide who we want to be and become that person. With each passing moment, we are given innumerable opportunities to create change using nothing more than our awareness.

In the span of a single second, our lives can change immeasurably because energy moves at a pace more rapid than anything we can consciously fathom. Though we may not at first be sensitive to the vibrational shifts taking place, our choices are ultimately at the heart of these transformations. We can typically recognize the consequences of key decisions because we anticipated the resultant energetic shifts. But many, if not most, of the choices we make each day are a product of instantaneous reactions, and these still have a significant impact on the energy of our existence. It is for this reason that we should learn to wield what control we can over these shifts. If we bear in mind that all we think and all we do will shape the existence we know, we can deliberately direct the energetic motion of our lives.

Each day, you make an infinite array of decisions that cause energy shifts in the world around you. In many cases, these transitions are almost imperceptible, while in others the change that takes place is palpable not only to you but also to those in your sphere of influence. Your awareness of the immediate energetic consequences of your thoughts and actions can guide you as you endeavor to make the most of the autonomy that defines you as an individual. The myriad choices you make from moment to moment, however inconsequential they may seem, represent your personal power, which sanctions you to transform the energetic tide of your existence with nothing more than your will.

June 30, 2010 – Nourishing and Cleansing – Performing Daily Ceremony
We can engage in daily practices that include ritual and ceremony, reminding ourselves throughout the day of the sacredness of this life.
When we perform or participate in rituals and ceremonies, we enter into a state of mind that is different from mundane consciousness. Ranging in significance from bedtime stories to weddings, ceremonies and rituals are acknowledgments that an event or period of time has special meaning. As a result, they can have the effect of drawing us into the moment, inviting us to pay closer attention and tune into the subtle energies that are always present but that often go unrecognized. In addition, as we perform the same actions we have performed before and will perform again, we immerse ourselves in a river of continuity that extends back into the past and forward into the future.

Many of us have distanced ourselves from rituals that may have seemed too constricting or too attached to an organized religion we have chosen not to follow. However, we can reclaim the practices of ceremony and ritual to good effect, imbuing them with our new consciousness, and we do not have to wait for a big event to do it. We can engage in daily practices that include ritual and ceremony, reminding ourselves throughout the day of the sacredness of this life. In fact, if we look closely, we will see that our days are already made up of rituals, from the time we wake up to the time we retire. So we do not need to change anything except our perspective to imbue our day with an air of ceremony.

Most of our daily rituals revolve around nourishing and cleansing, both of which have always been sacred acts. With this in mind, we may pause before each meal, close our eyes, and say a silent thank you to the universe that provides. If we want to get more elaborate, we can light candles or bless our food. Similarly, as we wash ourselves in the morning and evening, we can choose to see the grace in this act of cleansing and purification as we release what has past and prepare ourselves for the new. We can be as simple or as complex as we like, so long as our attitude is one of reverence for this sacred moment in this sacred life.

Silliness – GCF: How (not) to Train a Cat
Our young daughter had adopted a stray cat. To my distress, he began to use the back of our new sofa as a scratching post. “Don’t worry,” my husband reassured me. “I’ll have him trained in no time.”
I watched for several days as my husband patiently “trained” our new pet. Whenever the cat scratched, my husband deposited him outdoors to teach him a lesson.
The cat learned quickly. For the next 16 years, whenever he wanted to go outside, he scratched the back of the sofa.
