First Minus Tide of the cycle at 8:00 PM of -0.2 feet.
It’s a lot drier this morning, even sunlight trying to come through the clouds. It didn’t succeed, but it was trying. 52F, wind at 5, gusts into the low teens. We’ve only gotten 1/10 of an inch of rain since midnight after getting and inch *plus* that, yesterday! The rain is supposed to be back tonight. There’s actually a little sunshine out there, now….. and it’s raining. 🙂
The first day of our workweek always starts a little crazy. Yesterday was no exception, but it settled down after an hour and some change. I got another set of apple stuff set up and cooking by around 2:30 and my pills were finally in at the pharmacy so Tempus went after them. …and then he had to run out again to the bank and the PO, later.
He made bread and I set up newsletters. He was also working in back along with trying to make his computer behave. The most recent set of updates just went through. My computers didn’t have a problem with it, but he had to argue with his.
I had a reading come in at the end of the day while Tempus was at the PO. They left to get ice cream and I got the mail sorted…and they never came back. Sewing Workshop happened. I mostly worked on the needlepoint.
Jeanne stopped by for Tempus so he could help at home for a bit. When he got back he got us some supper.
Eventually we closed up and headed home. I settled in with my books and some drawings while he took off for Newport. He had a good run last night despite the rain and wind and was home by 6am, even though the papers were late.
Today we have more cleaning to do and I have to get ready for tomorrow. I’m going to an event in Veneta for the day, mostly to see some friends, and catch up with people, so I have to get those things ready, too.
….and of course, we’ve had people in and out, so this took longer than usual!
A picture that our son Arthur took on 10/19/15 of the San Diego sunset. Wow!
Sweet Woodruff, Galium odoratum is also called: sweetscented bedstraw, Master of the Woods and wild baby’s breath. The sweet smell persists when dried which makes it great for potpourri. It is also used as a flavoring agent in wines, beers, soft drinks and syrups and even in green gummy bears! The traditional witchy use is in May Wine along with strawberries, but you have to be careful not to steep it too long because coumarin (the odiferous agent) can give people headaches. – Masculine, Mars, Fire – Carry to attract money, bring victory for athletes and warriors. This week, the big W of Cassiopeia stands almost on end high in the northeast. Below it, binoculars will show the Double Cluster of Perseus.
The modest Orionid meteor shower continues in the early-morning hours for the next couple of nights. The apparent radiant point of the shower is near Orion’s Club, low in the east after midnight and high in the south by the beginning of dawn. The morning sky is free of moonlight. See Orionid Meteors Max Out Sunday Morning.
Look for <<<< Capella sparkling low in the northeast this week. Look for the Pleiades >>>> cluster about three fists at arm’s length to its right. These harbingers of the cold months to come rise higher as evening grows late. Upper right of Capella, and upper left of the Pleiades, the stars of Perseus stand astride the Milky Way. Upper left of Perseus is Cassiopeia.
Mercury and Jupiter are buried deep in the sunset.

Silliness – Bad Signs
A young woman who was several months pregnant boarded a bus. Then she noticed a young man smiling at her, and she began feeling humiliated on account of her condition. She changed her seat and he seemed more amused. She moved again and then on her fourth move he burst out laughing.
She had him arrested for harassing her.
Then the case came before the court, the young man was asked why he acted in such a manner.
His reply was: When the lady boarded the bus I couldn’t help noticing she was pregnant under an advertisement which read “Coming Soon: The Gold Dust Twins”, then she moved under one that read “Sloan’s Liniment to remove swelling”. I was even more amused when she sat under a shaving advertisement which read “William’s Stick Did The Trick”. Then I could not control myself any longer when on the fourth move she sat under an advertisement which read “Dunlop Rubber would have prevented this accident.”
The case was dismissed.
