Daily Stuff 3-3-19 Day of Remembrance for Prince Igor

Hi, folks!

Sioned and Kimberly

Out of sequence again. Photo by family members.

Yesterday I woke, far too early, to someone in the motel using the floor as drumset, upstairs. I was not a happy camper, but I dozed back off for awhile, only to wake again to the same thing. I called the front desk and they got ’em to stop, but I was awake, and *very* grumpy about it. That was at about 3pm. I got a shower and then got the computer up and answered some messages, hearing back from the kids, still in the hospital and congratulations of various sorts.

I finally ordered some food delivered from Ming’s restaurant. I can recommend their lemon chicken, in particular, but it was all good. I had enough for lunch on Monday and snacks and used the lemon chicken sauce as a dip for some rolls that I had.

Sioned and Billy

I wrote for awhile, never quite getting caught up. I talked to Tempus, online, then dozed off….

Arthur called and woke me.  Raven and Sioned were ok for visitors. Kimberly and Billy had already been by, and were going to stay for a little, so ARthur came to pick me up and we did a store run, so I would have to do any expensive ordering.

So when we got to the hospital, Kimberly an Billy went for their own supper and to get some sleep.

I got to hold baby!!!!! Finally, I held her and kept her happy for a little, changed her diaper and helped

Raven with some nursing tips, at which point Arthur was back. We visited for another hour, then he took me home, since everyone was tired.

I got a snack, caught up on messages, and went to bed.

herb garlic Allium_sativum_Woodwill_1793Today’s plant is GarlicAllium sativum. This is one of those wonderful herbs in cooking. Not only is it magically cleansing, it’s marvelously tasty even in small amounts. A good cook will add it and you’ll notice, not the garlic flavor, but only that the dish tastes great!
Masculine, Earth, Mars, Hecate – Magickal uses include healing, protection, exorcism, chasing vampires (both actual and psychic), and purification of spaces and objects. Guards against negative magic, spirits, and the envy of others. Hang in the home to bring togetherness to the family. Hang by bed or desk to keep your willpower strong. Wards off bad weather when worn or carried during outside activities (without throwing off natural cycles!) Absorbs diseases — rub fresh, peeled garlic against ailing body parts then throw the garlic into running water.

During this time, Igor enlisted the help of many vikings who helped him rule his kingdom and fight against his enemies. Although Uranus reached opposition and peak visibility in October, it remains a tempting target. The outer planet appears nearly 30° high in the west after darkness falls and doesn’t set until nearly 10 p.m. local time. The magnitude 5.9 world lies in the southwestern corner of Aries the Ram, some 2.2° northeast of the 4th-magnitude star Omicron (ο) Piscium. Although Uranus shines brightly enough to glimpse with the naked eye under a dark sky, use binoculars to locate it initially. A telescope reveals Uranus’ disk, which spans 3.4″ and shows a distinct blue-green hue.

I’m out of astro info for several days. I’ll have to fill back in when I’m  home.

Celtic Tree Month of Nuin/Nion/Ash, Feb 18 – Mar 17, Nion (NEE-uhn), ash – the common ash (Fraxinus excelsior L.) is a major tree of lowland forests in much of Europe, along with oaks and beeches. It grows to 40 m (130 feet) in open sites, with a broad crown reminiscent of American elm trees. Ash was and still is an important timber tree, and is a traditional material for the handle of a besom. The common ash is occasionally cultivated in North America, and similar native ash species are widely grown as street trees. Ashes are members of the Olive family (Oleaceae).

Ostara Magick – Spells

Ostara Seed Spell

Small plant pot

Write your goals and ambitions for the following year on the paper. Place the paper at the bottom of the pot, and lay the coin on top of it. Fill the pot with soil. Plant the seed into the soil, and water. Hold the pot between both hands and visualize your dreams/wishes growing as the plant does. Place the pot in a sunny spot, and nurture.

Ostara Rededication Spell Author: Edain McCoy

Re-dedicate yourself to your deities and renew your commitment to the magical life with this ritual. Invite your deities to your circle by lighting candles in their honor. Anoint yourself four times with the following oils: Sandalwood for purity, rosemary for power, lotus for spirituality, and clove for courage. When you are finished say:

Lord and Lady, as you dwell in me,
Make a fit vessel of me;
Give me strength and wisdom to do
All these thing I’ve promised to you.

Ostara Egg Spell – March 20th, 2007 – Color of the day: Red – Incense of the day: Myrrh

The Spring or Vernal Equinox marks the pagan holiday of Ostara. It is a time of balance and a celebration of the return of springtime. The spring holidays of many cultures celebrate with symbols of birth, growth, and fertility, such as rabbits and eggs. Most cultures gave their goddesses springtime gifts of eggs to ensure fertility and blessings. The yellow of the yolk symbolizes the returning Sun and the white shell represents the purity of the returning Maiden Goddess. Across time and across cultures, people decorated eggs in colors and symbols to reflect newness and freshness. The beautifully and intricately decorated Ukrainian eggs are made by writing eggs with beeswax in a batik or resist method. The dye is applied and the waxed part remains uncolored. Called pysanky, the Ukrainian word for decorated egg, they are prized works of art. Witches can do a magical pysanky by writing or drawing glyphs, runes, and symbols on the eggs and then dyeing them. Focus your intention on writing and decorating a hardboiled egg; use meaningful symbols and then dye it an appropriate color. Focus your wish or desire into the egg. Offer thanks to the Goddess, then eat it mindfully, imagining the new magic filling you like the pure sunlight of the season. By: Gail Wood

The How Does My Garden Grow Egg Blessing

After you have prepared your garden for planting, take a hard-boiled egg and mark upon it symbols of the earth, growth, and fertility. Browns and greens work especially well here. With your bare hands, dig a small hole in the middle of the planting area while murmuring a prayer to the Goddess of the Earth. Speak from the heart to honor her and ask for her blessings on the garden. Place the egg in the hole and cover it while still repeating your prayer. Walk clockwise three times around the entire perimeter of the garden and chant:

Egg of the Goddess, giver of all things,
Grow my garden abundant this spring.
Strong and sacred this place must be,
Springing forth its bounty, so blessed be.

Return to the center of the garden and cover the egg to bury its magickal energy at the heart of your garden. ~Edain McCoy~
